The other day something reminded me of an old song, so I looked it up and played it on YouTube. Then I started wondering when the artist had passed away or whether or not they were still alive at a very old age. 

This led me to look up other artists who I presumed had already passed. This finally led to the fact that one day family members or acquaintances may think back upon my life after I pass on.

The truth of the matter is that the scripture does say we are all destined to die; (Hebrews 9:27). There will be that time when we will pass on from this world to the next.

The most important truth is not this fact of certain death but the question of where we will spend eternity after this happens.

The Bible says it will be one of two places: heaven or hell. The great news is that we get to choose. If we choose to follow Jesus, then this gives us the assurance of heaven but if we reject Him then we are choosing eternal separation from God and eternal suffering.
