Dear editor: The pro-life community in the Coastal Empire is excited to let everyone know about the 40 Days for Life campaign going on in Savannah right now. The 40 Days campaign is a prayer campaign that has the goal of bringing about an end to abortion in our area.
The campaign consists of three parts – praying for an end to abortion; fasting in some way from a favorite food, treat, TV show, etc., in repentance for the more than 50 million abortions performed in the United States since abortion was legalized; and maintaining a peaceful, prayerful witness at the local abortion facility throughout the 40 days.
Many people in Savannah have joined the campaign, which is ongoing until Nov. 6. We always need more prayer warriors and people to pray at the vigil site. Please go to www.40daysforlife.com/savannah for more information or to sign up to pray.
In addition, caring citizens of Bryan County are working on establishing a crisis pregnancy care center in Richmond Hill to minister to those women in crisis pregnancies. Volunteers and donations are always welcome.
The Pregnancy Care Center of Richmond Hill can be reached via email at info@pccrichmondhill.org for anyone who would like to help in this endeavor. In addition, please stop by the 40 Days for Life/PCCRH booth at the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival this weekend for more information.
