More than 60 community members and guests grabbed their lawn chairs and blankets on Feb. 16, filling the parking lot at the Brew Station coffee shop in Pembroke for a high energy youth rally.

The theme of the night was "Lay it Down-the L.I.D.," featuring area Christian groups and performers. An opening message delivered by Pastor David Thaxton from IWC in Bloomingdale set the mood for a night of celebration and joy.

INDEX Youth Drama of Believers Statesboro Church gave a moving dramatic performance. Then Driven, a local Christian rock band from First Baptist Church of Pembroke really got he crowd on their feet. Hands clapped along, feet tapped and several hopped up and danced, while rally goers enjoyed coffee, hot dogs and fellowship.

"We had a great time," said Joey McIntosch, owner of the Brew Station. "INDEX and Driven were awesome. We were really excited about the turn out. This is the second youth rally we have hosted and we will definitely do it again."
