Three Bryan County High School students were killed Wednesday morning in a wreck on Highway 119 just north of Pembroke.
According to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department, the victims, identified as Heather Janel Arthur, 15, Melissa Faye Arthur, 17, and Laura C. Cobb, 16, were all riding in a red Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Tam Duc Le, 17.
Captain Mike Maxwell with the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department said Le’s car was traveling south when he lost control and crossed the center line, colliding with a Ford truck driven by Robin Wilkes of Ellabell. There were no passengers in the truck.
Le was transported to Memorial Health in Savannah via LifeStar and is listed in critical condition. Wilkes was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bulloch County. There is no word on her condition.
The wreck, according to Maxwell, happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday just north of Pembroke.
The accident is still under investigation by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department.
