Semi stolen from Parker’s in Blitchton
BCSO

A Pembroke man reportedly drove off Tuesday with someone else’s “semi-truck with trailer” at a Parker’s convenience store parking lot in Blitchton, according to a Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office report. The incident report said deputies were alerted to the theft shortly before 2 p.m. and “had the tractor trailer traveling on Highway 80 into Effingham County.”

At the same time, the reporting deputy went to the Parker’s and met the driver, who said he left his truck unlocked and running and went inside the store. That’s when the man, who was later identified to authorities allegedly jumped into the truck and drove off. The truck driver’s company, based out of Kentucky, was able to track the tractor trailer and found it on Artley Road in Savannah. Savannah police found the truck stuck in the mud, but the man who left it there was gone.

He was later caught in Pooler, but the company declined to press charges, the report said.
