Richmond Hill Community Theatre is conducting the SCARE AWAY HUNGER food drive to stock The WAY Station Food Pantry.
Throughout the month of September, the theatre is teaming up with local businesses to collect canned and dry foods.
According to Emily Baum, one of the volunteers who serves at the food pantry, food insecurity and hunger is increasing here in our community due to factors like inflation and the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy. The WAY Station Food Pantry is currently serving well over 100 clients per month, most of them being from Richmond Hill.
Please bring your food donations to one of the local business drop-off locations and you can enter a drawing to win $100. The drawing will be held live on October 1st during the final performance of their fall show, . You don’t have to be present to win.
Drop your food donation at one of these locations:
The Bookstore on the Hill, The Green Spork Café & Market (canned veggies only), Great Oaks Bank RH, Way Station Coffee Co, Plums Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop, and Liberty Shipping Richmond Hill.
