RHPS recognizes its best for 2008
RHPS-teacher-of-year

Richmond Hill Primary School has recognized kindergarten teacher Mary Ellen Daniel as the Teacher of the Year and special education paraprofessional Carla Jackson as the Paraprofessional of the Year.

Daniel said she was very excited to have been elected.

"I work with the most wonderful teachers and I feel blessed to be at RHPS," she said. "I love what I do and I hope that shines through to the students and the teachers I work with. I always try to have a positive attitude in all the things I do. Teaching is a very rewarding job."

Nomination comments from Daniel’s coworkers included remarks that she is a very dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, she encourages her students to do their best, and she has a positive attitude and is a pleasure to work with.

Jackson said she was surprised of her recognition.

"Each year when it’s time to nominate one fellow co-worker, I have such a difficult time," she said. "I feel all of my coworkers have their own unique qualities and personalities that would make any one of them deserving of this recognition. I endeavor to look at all those qualities I admire and try to reflect them as well as I can."

The event was hosted by the RHPS PTSO.
