In ceremonies held Aug. 3 at the University of North Georgia, 11 graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard, including Alexander A. Kozhemyakin of Richmond Hill.

Kozhemyakin earned a Bachelor of Science in physics and mechanical engineering and commissioned in the U.S. Army-Corps of Engineers. Kozhemyakin's parents are Larry and Inna Denton. Kozhemyakin graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 2012.
