In the photo above, Richmond Hill Fire Department Chief Brendon Greene, left, before family members, presented lifesaving medals Tuesday night to Capt. John Cook, Sgt. Jacob Cribbs, Firefighter Fritzgerald Ramirez and Sgt. Mathew Futch for their actions in saving a man’s life Oct. 10.

Firefighters were dispatched on a call regarding a man who wasn’t breathing and turning blue.

The firefighters performed CPR and administered a dose of Narcan, which is a treatment for opioid overdoses, and the man survived.

Greene praised the firefighters and Bryan County EMS for the deed.
