There are currently no new developments in the case of a missing Fort Stewart soldier, Spc. Maria Cristina Cardona, Hinesville police said Tuesday.
“There were no signs of foul play in the residence, but at this point we don’t know,” HPD detective Kyle Lairamoure said. “We don’t have her vehicle, we don’t have her.”
“Spc. Cardona is assigned to the 135th Quartermaster Company, 87th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion,” Fort Stewart spokesman Kevin Larson said. “She has been AWOL since Nov. 9.  Once she was declared AWOL, her unit’s command team called her husband, father and mother in an effort to find Spc. Cardona.”
Cardona, also listed as Cardonaisaza, 23, was last seen at her Hinesville home Nov. 6. She has brown hair and green eyes, is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 110 pounds.
Cardona drives a gray 2003 Toyota Corolla with a Georgia license plate number of BMK8063.
Cardona’s family in New Jersey told police they had not heard from or seen the young soldier in recent weeks.
Anyone with information about Cardona should call Lairamoure at 368-8215.
