The following reports are from the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department: Drugs: Aug. 7 — Deputies arrested a Richmond Hill man after a marijuana plant was found in his yard on Peartree Drive.

Burglary

Aug. 10 — Deputies responded just after 3 p.m. to Hill Road in Richmond Hill a woman reported her home had been burglarized. She said her sons arrived home from school to find one of the son’s guitar cases in the middle of the road. The two boys went into the home and found things thrown about. Items taken include an Xbox and several guns.

Aug. 4 — Around 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to Wren Lane in Ellabell after a woman reported several items missing from her home. She arrived home to find a window unit air conditioner pushed through the window and mud tracks leading to her freezer. She said ham steaks, hamburger meat, canned Vienna sausages, bread and more were stolen.

DUI

Aug. 10 — Around 9 p.m., deputies found a truck in the ditch on Brisbon Road. There were four people inside the vehicle, and the Richmond Hill driver said someone was coming to help them out of the ditch. His eyes were bloodshot and when deputies asked if he’d been drinking, he admitted to having two beers and whiskey.

Entering auto

Aug. 2 — Deputies responded to Daniel Siding Road in Richmond Hill around noon after a woman reported several items missing from her car. She said she had not been in her car for several days and that her car was not locked. A bag containing several different medications and money was stolen.

Aug. 2 — Deputies responded to a home on Highway 204 in Ellabell after a man reported a pistol missing from his truck. The man said a radar detector was stolen out of another vehicle on his property that was left unlocked.

Aug. 5 — Deputies responded just after 8 a.m. to Kathy Drive in Ellabell when a man reported a Garmin GPS stolen from his truck during the night. He said the truck was left unlocked overnight.

Aug. 6 — Around 1 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Highway 204 in Ellabell after a man reported $100 and work tools missing from his truck. The truck was left unlocked overnight.

Aug. 6 — Just before 7 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Highway 204 in Ellabell after a man reported several items missing from his car. A Garmin GPS and a Cobra radar detector were stolen around 2 a.m. The man had a security camera which recorded the theft. He was unsure if the car was locked.

Aug. 7 — Around 5 p.m., deputies responded to Arden Loop Circle in Ellabell after a woman reported an iPod missing from her truck. The woman believes the incident occurred on Aug. 5 around 11:30 p.m. when her husband noticed the dome lights on in the truck.

The following reports are from the Richmond Hill Police Department:

Public drunkenness

Aug. 3 — Officers responded just before 2:30 p.m. to the El Cheapo on Harris Trail in reference to a suspicious person. Officers found the Richmond Hill man walking down the road swaying as he walked. The man was also drinking from a brown bottle, which officers thought to be beer. Officers approached the man and he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot and glassy eyes and was talking slow. The man told officers he’d drank four beers.

Aug. 4 — Around 9 p.m., officers responded to the Raceway convenience store on Highway 17 after the owner of the store reported a drunk man was causing problems at the store. The owner said the Michigan man threatened to fight the owner. Officers found the man sitting on a nearby bench. He smelled of alcohol. A breath test indicated he’d been drinking and he was arrested.

Possession of marijuana

Aug. 5 — Officers stopped a Taylors, S.C., woman just after 5:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 for speeding. While speaking with the woman she seemed to rush officers to give her a citation. Officers used a drug dog to search the vehicle and the woman admitted to having marijuana in the ashtray.
