If you received an automated call Wednesday from the Richmond Hill Police Department concerning a missing 12-year-old, do not worry – she was found within hours, according to police.
Tamara Owens’ parents called police around 8 p.m. Wednesday night when their child did not return after reportedly walking from her home on Bellgrove Circle.
Det. Dana Strickland said the girl was found shortly afterward and was simply “visiting a friend’s house without permission.”
The automated call went out to phone numbers in the area about 12 minutes after the girl was reported missing.
