School level Teachers of Year announced Thursday

Bryan County Schools Teachers of the Year for their respective schools were announced Thursday. Bryan County Schools introduced its school-level teachers of the year Thursday night at the Bryan County Board of Education meeting at Richmond Hill Middle School.

The district’s top teacher will be announced later.

Teachers honored Thursday were Heather Vandaveer, Richmond Hill Primary; Ashley Johnson, Lanier Primary; Holly Collins, Richmond Hill Elementary; Melissa Hooper, Bryan County Elementary; Crystal Lanier Trombley, Carver Elementary; Robert Hodgdon, Richmond Hill Middle; Cassandra Donaldson, Bryan County Middle; Jennifer Sack, Richmond Hill High; and Ginnie Sherrod, Bryan County High.

The teachers were introduced by their principals. More on this story to come.

Also Thursday, two winners of the School Bus Safety Poster Contest were recognized by Transportation Director Dr. Allen Cox. The winners were Joseph Alvarez, a kindergartner at Richmond Hill Primary School; and Neeali Scott, third grade, Richmond Hill Elementary School.
