Ring kicks off tour of District 1
Lisa Ring
Lisa Ring

Democratic Congressional Candidate Lisa Ring is touring the 1st District of Georgia to meet with and listen to voters as part of her “No One Gets Left Behind” tour.

Ring has met with community groups, leaders\ and individuals in Glynn, Chatham, Lowndes, Bryan, Liberty, Camden and Long counties and has upcoming events in Ware, Wayne and Bacon counties.

Ring is the chair of the Bryan County Democratic Committee, the vice chair of the Georgia Democratic Rural Council and was a Sanders Delegate to the DNC, as well as the co-chair of the Georgia Sanders Delegation with Sen. Vincent Fort.

Ring is a mother of four children, a military spouse and a military mom, who has a background in corrections, both as an officer and as an executive director in community corrections. She has been involved in organizing District 1 to encourage people to run for local office and to help with Get the Vote Out efforts.

Ring said she is committed to being the voice of the people and believes voters have had enough of partisan bickering and political posturing. She is an advocate for working families, veterans, millennials and seniors.

Ring said she is fighting for social, racial, environmental and economic justice and believes in the power of voters to change a system that currently does not work for them. Her top priorities are Medicare for all, a living wage and worker’s rights, and ensuring that veterans and military families get the care and benefits promised to them.

She said she believes the current political leaders are out of touch with the issues that matter to the residents of the district and that the decisions being made in Congress benefit the extremely wealthy and special interests at the expense of hard-working Americans.

She said she is ready to fight to balance the inequity of power and to address the issues directly effecting people’s lives.
