Pembroke PZ board gets new member

The Pembroke Planning and Zoning Commission will see some new and familiar faces on its board after a decision Monday from the Pembroke City Council.
At its regularly scheduled meeting in City Hall, the council appointed Johnny Tuten to fill the expired term of Gary Morrison on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The council also reappointed Dave Williams to the board.
Morrison said he would not be able to serve an additional term on the commission because of his work schedule, Mayor Mary Warnell told the council.
Warnell also said two other Planning and Zoning Commission positions would be open in January 2013, at which time the council would choose new members or reappoint the current members.
Though commission members are not selected based on the districts in which they live, Warnell said when the time comes to reappoint the two positions in January, she would like to strive for equal representation on the commission.
