Pembroke Police Dept. to add precinct office
Longtime Clerk of Works to retire at end of year

Pembroke will again have a police precinct office at Miller Village, after city council voted Monday night to accept an offer of office space from Claxton Housing Authority. The only thing the city will have to pay is for water, phone and internet. A ribbon cutting will be held soon -- and Public Safety Director Bill Collins thanked the CHA, which is renovating the office for police at no charge and will cover the light bill, he said.

Also Monday, longtime Clerk of Works Ricky McCoy announced he'll be retiring at the end of the year. McCoy, who helps head up public works projects, has been with Pembroke since 2000.
