Noah Covington vies for county seat

North Bryan resident Noah Covington has declared his intention to seek the District 1 seat on the Bryan County Board of Commissioners in the coming election.
In addition to Covington, current District 1 Commissioner Joe Kendrick and former District 1 commissioner Rufus Ed Bacon also have plans to seek election to the seat.
Covington, 42, is planning to qualify as a Republican candidate. His desire to seek office stems from the need for strong leadership in North Bryan, he said.
“With the amount of growth we’re seeing on the south end (of the county), what we see now is the north end basically has a commissioner and a half,” Covington said, referring to the new county districts, which caused District 2 to be split between North and South Bryan.
“We (North Bryan residents) need to be represented in all phases of county business with someone that will speak up and make sure the north end has a strong voice and is represented fairly,” he said.
