Road work on Highway 144 began Sunday night and will continue until July 31, Fort Stewart spokesman Kevin Larson said in an email Monday morning.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is paving a little more than 11 miles of Highway 144 East between Evans Army Airfield and the Richmond Hill boundary gate in four-mile sections that will close one lane. Flagging stations will be used. Night work will occur.
Lanes will not be closed from 6-8 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
