Dunham Farms in Midway was included in an international feature in Brigitte Woman, a popular luxury-brand awareness German magazine for women over 40.
The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted writer Beatrix Gerstberger and photographer Alex Trebus during their stay in Liberty County in November 2017. The two were on a familiarization tour planned in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development Tourism Division.
In the article, Gerstberger highlights the stories of three women she met from Albany, Savannah and Midway and interweaves the three stories in a way shows Georgia as a must-see destination.
“Our absolute favorite place was the plantation Dunham Farms,” said Gerstberger, translated by the state from the article, which is written in German. “Meredith Devendorf is an enthusiastic host who takes you to spontaneous kayak trips and can tell a lot about the old South.”
The eight-page article has an advertising value of 25.200 euros per page for a total advertising value of 201,600 euros, or roughly $236,000. The paid circulation of the magazine is currently 175,744 copies and growing.
“This is the official destination marketing organization of Liberty County at work, finding the opportunities and helping do our part to make Liberty County the best place to live, work and play. We are very happy that we could accommodate this visit and work with the state tourism folks to make this happen,” said LCCVB CEO Leah Poole.
