Toriano Gilbert has announced that he has qualified for the District 5 school board election in Bryan County.

On his Facebook page, Gilbert said, "I welcome the opportunity to serve, and every day I will move with a sense of urgency to build an exceptional Bryan County School System -- together."

He asked that you vote for him on May 24.

Gilbert listed the following qualifications:

3 Years- Federal Programs Director

12 Years- High School Principal

3 Years- Elementary School Principal

2 Years- Elementary School Assistant Principal

4 Years- Middle/High School Teacher

Qualifying began Monday for candidates for four open seats on the Bryan County Board of Education, including that of chairman, and three on the Bryan County Commission. Qualifying ends Friday, March 11, at 5 p.m.
