Richmond Hill High School senior Gabrielle Abrams has been named the school’s 2025 PAGE STAR Student.
Marc Curtis, President of the Richmond Hill GA Lions Club, the local STAR program sponsor, announced the honor. Abrams selected Stephen Peterson, Engineering teacher at Richmond Hill High School, as her STAR Teacher. The Richmond Hill GA Lions Club Foundation, Inc. provides a $1,000 scholarship to Ms. Abrams.
Gabrielle Abrams, the daughter of Grace & Michael Abrams, earned the recognition for academic achievement and performance on the SAT. The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program is sponsored, administered and promoted by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and the PAGE Foundation. Since its creation, the STAR program has honored nearly 30,000 students and the teachers they have selected as the most influential to their academic achievement. High school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average to qualify for STAR nomination. As the Bryan County School System winner, Gabrielle will compete with other regional winners for State PAGE STAR Student honor.
“The Lions Club is very proud of Gabrielle Abrams and Stephen Peterson and the academic excellence they exemplify at Richmond Hill High School,” said Donna Hoke, RH Lions Club Scholarship Chairperson. The RH Lions Club Foundation provides two scholarships each year for local graduating seniors. One scholarship is for the STAR Student and the other is selected through an application and interview process. Applications for the second scholarship are available from the high school guidance counselor.
