FMES celebrates STEM night
stem.jpg

Hundreds came out to Frances Meeks Elementary School Tuesday night to take part in STEM night in Bryan County.

The children and parents who took part in the event were given access to a Coast Guard helicopter, which landed in the parking lot of the school. The children were able to sit in the co-pilot's seat and learn how it works.

Inside, the school cafeteria area, as well as the hallways were lined with various projects the children were able to touch or solve, such as how much weight a tin foil boat can hold.

They learned about gravity rising and saw a display of racing cars which looped around the track, as well as animatronic animals.

There was somethings for all ages during the hour-long event.
