In a press release sent to local media, Rick Fitzer announced he was withdrawing his name from the March 19th special election for Richmond Hill City Council.
Here is the release:
I have a strong desire to serve the citizens of Richmond Hill, but I must withdraw from the election for the health & safety of my family.
I am a Homebuilder. I consider what we do to be a noble profession. We create the place where life happens. What if there weren’t any homes available when you bought yours?
I belong to the Homebuilder’s Association of Savannah, and have served on their Board of Directors, and chaired their Engineers & Developers Council for several years.
The Homebuilder’s Association has not funded one cent of my campaign. It was self-funded out of an interest to serve on our City Council and make a difference in our City.
I am not an “employee” of “one of the biggest developers in Bryan County”. I am the Qualifying Broker, and an Independent contractor, for Integrity Real Estate LLC. We are a Real Estate company that markets new & resale homes in the Tri-County area.
I AM an independent thinker, not in anyone’s pocket, nor will I ever be.
May God bless the candidates, and our Fair City!
Sincerely,
Rick Fitzer
