The Bryan County Chamber of Commerce has named Erin Fountain as Interim Chief Executive Officer, stepping into the role with nearly two decades of involvement and leadership within the organization.
A respected business leader and longtime Chamber advocate, Fountain has been actively involved since 2005, contributing through years of service, volunteer leadership, and strategic involvement. She currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors and most recently held the role of Board Secretary. In addition to her Chamber leadership, Fountain brings a strong background in sales, marketing, event management, and business development, along with deep ties to the local community where she was raised and continues to live and work.
As a real estate professional and community connector, Fountain has built her career around helping individuals, families, and businesses grow and succeed in Bryan County.
“Erin represents the very best of what our Chamber stands for,” said Board Chair Matt Hodges. “Her long-standing involvement, institutional knowledge, and heart for service make her uniquely qualified to guide the organization during this time. We are confident in her ability to provide strong, steady leadership as we move forward.”
Fountain shared her appreciation for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. “The Chamber has been an important part of my life for many years, and I care deeply about the role it plays in supporting our business community,” she said. “I’m honored to step in and support the organization during this time, and I look forward to continuing the work that connects, advocates for, and grows our local businesses.”
This leadership transition follows the announcement that Michele Knight will be stepping down from her role as President and CEO, effective April 22, due to personal reasons. The Chamber is grateful for Michele’s service and contributions during her tenure.
The Bryan County Chamber of Commerce remains committed to its mission to support, connect, and advocate for the business community, and will continue its work without interruption as the Board of Directors begins the process of identifying its next President and CEO.
