Jan Bass of Richmond Hill has been named director of marketing for Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire.
“I am extremely happy to join the Goodwill family,” Bass said. “It feels great to wake up every morning and realize I am helping to spread the Goodwill mission side-by-side with some very talented individuals.”
Bass comes to Goodwill from the city of Richmond Hill, where she served as the community developer/economic planner from 2003 to 2010.
In her new position, Bass is responsible for the overall marketing strategy for Goodwill Industries’ workforce development, business services and retail/donation division through the promotion of the organization’s mission. Additionally, Bass serves as the public relations arm to promote community awareness and coordinate partnerships within the 33-county region that Goodwill Industry services.
Prior to her position with the city of Richmond Hill, Bass was an intelligence analyst for the U.S. Army from 1996 to 2003. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Carolina University in North Carolina and is currently completing a master’s degree in education from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire Inc. not-for-profit organization currently employs more than 500 employees locally and in 2010 provided services to 3,184 people in the community, among them homeless veterans, at-risk youth, new immigrants and the disabled.
Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire serves 33 counties in Georgia and South Carolina and operates 12 retail locations in the region.
