The Statesboro Area Society for Human Resource Management will present a public seminar, “Affordable Care Act — Current Regulations and Upcoming Changes for 2016,” at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queensborough National Bank, 201 S. Main St. in Statesboro. The lunch is sponsored by Glenn/Davis and Associates Insurance Agency.

Caroline Smith, vice president of compliance for AssuredPartners Inc. will be the guest speaker. Smith is billed as an expert on employee benefits compliance, specifically health and welfare-plan compliance-related federal laws including the ACA. She also supervises the management of Assured Options, AssuredPartners’ proprietary health insurance exchange.

“This is a very important and timely meeting,” said Curtis Woody, president of Statesboro Area SHRM. “Effective in 2016, various transition rules, which were available in 2015 for the employer mandate, will no longer be available. The information that will be shared during this seminar will provide area businesses with the latest compliance updates and answers to many of your ACA questions.”

Tickets for the seminar can be purchased at bit.ly/1nZrAxh.
