Bryan County Fire & Emergency Services Firefighter/EMT Kevin Tomko, right, was named the employee of the quarter for the second quarter of 2021, and is shown with Bryan County Fire Chief Freddy Howell. 

Tomko, who serves with A shift, South Battalion Station 1, was nominated by his peers, who say he is always in high spirits and “always willing to put forth the extra effort to get tasks done,” while going “above and beyond” to help coworkers.

 He also recently spent his own time and money to bring water and food to firefighters conducting search and rescue operations at the building collapse in Surfside..
