From the Bryan County Sheriff's Office reports, week of July 16

  • July 10: Officers respond to a verbal dispute between a couple; the woman reports that her partner threw a glass bottle at the rear of her vehicle, causing an approximate 1-inch hole. Both parties decided to end the relationship on the scene and separated.
  • July 10: A driver alerts an officer that the driver of one of the vehicles called and reported that the homeowner threatened him with a gun.
  • July 10: A man stated that his tenant recently moved out and had lived there for two years. He noted damage to his property after the tenant vacated on July 7. He advised that the garage wall had sustained damage and that two bricks on the front wall of the residence were broken. The tenant claimed that the damage was caused by the house settling and not his actions.
  • July 11: Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident without injury at Highway 280 and I-16 in the roundabout. A man involved was arrested for driving with a suspended license, dated January 2023.
  • July 11: Man shows officer the hood of his silver Toyota Tacoma that had what appeared to be a 9mm bullet lodged in the hood of his vehicle. The bullet hole was the same size as the round itself, leading the officer to believe that the round was not intentionally fired into the vehicle but rather fired into the air, and the bullet landed on the vehicle.
  • July 12: Man arrested for speeding in excess of maximum limits (110+ MPH) and for driving without a driver’s license.
  • July 12: Woman found asleep in her vehicle parked in a roadway; an open bottle of liquor was found in the front passenger seat. The woman was transported to the Bryan County Jail.
  • July 13: Driver arrested for going 88 MPH in a 70 MPH zone, and for also having a warrant for their arrest out of Twiggs County, Georgia.
  • July 14: Man reports that an employee of his stole $4,060 from his business account.
