From the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports

Aug 21: Woman reports that, after entering her home after work she saw the trunk of her car, a white Toyota Corolla, propped open. She said she shut the trunk and noticed that the front seat of her vehicle was all the way back and not where she normally has it while driving.

Aug 21: Man reports his license plate was lost “at an unknown location somewhere in Bryan County”. He stated that he was unsure exactly when the license plate was lost but believed it had occurred sometime within the past year.

Aug 22: Man reports forgery while trying to deposit a check to pay his mortgage. When the complainant learned that he was past due on his mortgage payment, he conducted an investigation into the check and discovered that the check had been altered and made payable to an unknown person named Laran Jefferson.

Aug 22: Driver stopped for driving with expired registration, suspended license.

Aug 23: Driver stopped for going 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone; arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Aug 23: Officers request backup to put a man into custody for burglary, but who was actively resisting arrest.

Aug 24: Man reports that someone stole a large amount of rubber roofing material, bundled in 5 ft rolls. The total amount of material stolen is valued at approximately $72,000. The complainant stated that the construction site did not have security cameras. He stated that his company wished to pursue criminal charges if a suspect was identified.

Aug. 25: Man reports that he had his puppy outside and that his nephew had a gun and pointed it at the dog. He stated that the incident happened an hour before deputies arrived.
