From Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Stalking: An Ellabell woman reported March 28 she found a letter and card taped to her front door from a secret admirer, whom she believed to be a neighbor, and it scared her. She got a case number.

Assist motorist: A deputy was sent to the BCSO office in South Bryan around 1:30 p.m. April 2 to meet with a Pooler man regarding an accident that had occurred 3-1/2 hours earlier.

The complainant “stated he was traveling west on Fort McAllister Road and was slowing down to make a right turn on to Ga. Highway 144. He stated as he was merging into the right turn lane and his truck’s front left tire fell off.”

The man said because a wrecker nearby he had his pickup towed and “did not call the police when it first happened because the wrecker was right there.”

Suspicious act: A deputy patrolling Ball Park Road near Timber Trail and the rec department shortly before 9 a.m. April 2 was waved down by a “male subject in the area of the skate park.”

The male subject said he heard what “appeared to be water running in the men’s restroom and he observed water coming out of the restroom. He stated he never went in the restroom and did not know who to call so he waved me down,” the deputy reported.

“Upon investigating, I observed the sink in the male restroom was busted and laying on the floor and water was spraying out of the line. I also observed the mounting bracket for the sink was rusted. It could not be determined if the sink fell off the wall or someone broke it. There was no other damage to the men’s restroom and no damages to the women’s restroom. We were able to turn the water off to keep any more damages from happening.”

Criminal trespass: A deputy was sent at around 9 p.m. April 3 to the Rec Department on Timber Trail due to “vehicles drag racing” there. “Upon arrival on scene, I made contact with Richmond Hill Police and a juvenile male driver of a white in color, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe stuck in the mud.”

Theft: An Ellabell woman reported March 31 someone stole the well pump from a home she is in the process of fixing back up after it caught fire last year. The woman estimated the cost to replace the pump at about $1,600.

DUI: An Ohio man was arrested for DUI around midnight April 2 after he was pulled over on Harris Trail at the Highway 17 intersection. The man,  who apparently couldn’t stay in his lane and almost hit a guard rail, claimed to have had only three drinks in Savannah, but failed field sobriety tests and, after refusing both a preliminary breath test and the state blood test, was taken to jail. “During his transport, (the man) vomited several times in the back of (a deputy’s patrol car).”

Matter of record: Deputies and EMS personnel were sent to an Ellabell address around 4 p.m. April 3 regarding a 51-year-old man “falling off a trampoline and landing on his neck.”  The man was being helped by EMS when deputies arrived.

Speeding, no license, etc: A deputy clocked a southbound vehicle going 75 mph on Highway 17 around 10:55 p.m. April 1 and conducted a traffic stop. When asked for a license the driver gave the deputy a Connecticut ID card and spoke little English, so an RHPD officer was called in to help interpret. What’s more, the car was found to have a suspended registration and no insurance.
