More than 265 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 in a joint effort Jan. 30 between the Coastal District DPH, Richmond Hill Fire Department, City of Richmond Hill and Bryan County Fire & Emergency Services.

 According to information provided by the City of Richmond Hill, RHFD and BCES members joined Coastal District DPH staffers with the immunization effort at The Wetlands Center, while City of Richmond Hill staff scheduled vaccination appointments earlier in the week from the Coastal District DPH’s waiting list. Medical students from Mercer University also assisted.

 City officials said they were "thrilled to be a part of this initiative, and will be working with these entities again in the near future to plan another vaccination day for those on the Coastal District DPH’s waiting list."
