Post-wide yard sale is for everyone
Weekly FMWR briefing for April 7-13

Take home a bunch of bargains from the Great FMWR Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

A map of sale sites will be available at WWW.StewartMWR.com. Only residents of post housing can sell, but everyone, including civilians, can shop.

Fort Stewart visitors should enter at the Main Gate on General Screven Way. Hunter visitors should enter through the Montgomery Street Gate. Drivers must have valid driver's licenses and passengers 16 and older must have photo identification.

Power lifting

“The Rock” Power Lifting and Bench Press Competition will be Saturday at Newman Fitness Center. Weigh-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the competition at 10:15 a.m. The entry fee is $15.

Contestants will be placed into weight classes and must complete a bench press to qualify. Each competitor will attempt three lifts. The highest overall weight lifted will determine the winners.

Awards will be presented.

Easter brunch

Enjoy Southern breakfast favorites, a carving station featuring Bourbon glazed ham, and other entrees, side dishes and desserts during the Easter Brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. April 20 at Club Stewart.

Save $3 on adult and $1 on children’s meals until April 17. After that, prices after $17.95 for adults and $7.95 for children ages 3-10. Children ages 2 and under are free.

Bring your toddlers, up to age 5, to an Easter Egg Hunt especially for them April 21 at Cypress Creek.

Bridal expo

Planning a celebration? Everything you need is under one roof from 1:30-4 p.m. April 27 at Club Stewart: hair and beauty, cakes and catering, travel and entertainment, jewelry and fashion, photography, limousines, music and prizes.

The Bridal Event and Expo is open to the public.

Entry costs $5 for military ID cardholders and $7 for others. Register to receive gift bags and enter a drawing for trips and reduced room rates. More than 200 wedding dresses will be given away to future military brides.

Trip to Atlanta

Fort Stewart MWR is partnering with Keep Liberty Beautiful on the event for all ages through environmentally geared games, crafts, displays and entertainment on Earth Day.

Month of Military Child

Operation Megaphone Worldwide Memories From Around the World Lock-In, from 7 p.m.-7 a.m. April 25-26 at the Youth Activity Center, will feature a midnight basketball tournament, dance, cooking class, sumo wrestling, canned food drive, art project, live video with other installations worldwide and more.

The lock-in is a Month of the Military Child event and is open to CYSS-registered Youth (grades 6-12) from Stewart and Hunter. The cost is $25, or $20 and two canned goods. Space is limited. Registration ends April 23.

Crossfit

Sign up today for a two-day crossfit competition, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. May 2-3 at Caro Fitness Center.

Contestants in six categories will complete various workouts. Register online at https://webtrac.mwr.army.mil/webtrac/Stewartrectrac.html.

Registration is $25 per person through April 15 and then $35 through April 30.

Find out who is the most fit in the area. Soldiers, family members and Army civilians can compete.

Five-day cruise

Sail aboard the Carnival Fascination on a 5-day Bahamas Cruise, with stops at Nassau and Half Moon Cay, Oct. 11-16.

An inside room costs $329.52 per person, ocean-view $379.52, not including gratuity and transportation. A payment schedule is available.
