Have you captured what you consider a prizewinning image with your digital camera?
Here’s a way to find out if they really are prizewinners:
Enter them in the 2010 Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Digital Photography Contest.
There’s no cost to enter, but time is growing short. The deadline for entering at the local level is 5 p.m. on Nov. 22. All entries must be submitted online.
To access the contest’s website through the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation page, go to http://www.armymwr.com and click on Rec & Leisure. When the pulldown menu appears, click on Arts & Crafts and you’ll see the contest information. Or, you can type https://artscrafts.fmwrc.army.mil directly into your browser and log in to the contest web site with your AKO username and password.
There are two major competitive divisions, the military (active duty) and other eligible participants (family members, Army civilians, retirees, etc).
The eight categories in each division are people, military life, nature and landscape, animals, still life, design elements, digital darkroom and monochrome.
For more details, pick up an information packet from the Leisure Travel Services Office, building 419 at Fort Stewart.
Judging will be conducted Nov. 23 and winners will be notified the following day. Prizes for each division and category winner will be a $25 FMWR coupon book. Local winners will be asked to provide a printed copy for display.
Winning entries from Stewart and Hunter will be entered in the 2010 Army Digital Photography Contest.
