It is time to "let the good times roll," as the annual Tybee Island Mardi Gras Parade marches down Butler Avenue this Saturday.

Activities are free.

Get decked out in traditional purple, green and gold and bring the kids to this family-friendly event.

Get there early as festivities start with a street party at noon.

At 12:30 p.m. the Christy Alan Band will keep the audience moving in advance of the parade.

The parade will begin at 2 p.m. The route travels down Butler Avenue onto Tybrisa Street. Visitors should bring chairs or blankets and stake out a vantage point along the parade route.

Participants in the parade are competing to be crowned 2017 Mardi Gras Tybee king and queen. The winners will be announced and then host the street dance immediately following the parade.

At 2:30 p.m. The Hypnotics take the stage to keep the revelry going into the evening.
