'Frozen' to show in county parks free

The county will show "Frozen" twice during December in parks free.

Coastal Georgia likely won’t experience freezing outdoor temperatures around the holidays, but area residents can still enjoy the chill vicariously through the characters of a popular, family-friendly film.

Bryan County is planning two free Movie in the Park nights, featuring the hit children’s film "Frozen." The first screening will be from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 1 at DeVaul Henderson Recreation Park in Richmond Hill. The second showing is from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 8 at George D. Hendrix Park in Ellabell.

At both events, families are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and snacks. From 6-6:30 p.m., before the movie starts, Santa will make a special guest appearance to mingle with the crowd and pose for pictures until Queen Elsa and Princess Anna take to the big screen.

"We encourage families in both the north and south parts of Bryan County to come together and enjoy a Friday night of free family fun in two of our beautiful parks," County Administrator Ben Taylor said.
