Richmond Hill Middle School sixth-graders Sam Bertagnolli and Isabella Perry stand before the school’s Christmas tree with the donations they, along with RHMS seventh-grader Suzie Bertagnolli, collected for the shelter at Bryan County Animal Control.
Beth Murray with the shelter said the girls took it upon themselves to collect the “gift of love,” which included getting permission from principal Dr. William McGrath and making wish lists, posters and boxes for donations.
“These girls are very generous to do this,” Murray said. “The shelter animals loved all the treats that were donated. Bryan County Animal Control would like to say, ‘Thank you,’ to all the students. We are very proud of you.” Suzie Bertagnolli is not shown because she was taking a math final when the photo was taken.
