April 25: Bark Park Wine and Cheese Fundraiser   – Learn more about the proposed Bryan County Bark Park at a dog-themed fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. at Marker 107 at Kilkenny Creek. Guests can sample a wide range of fine wines, savory cheeses and delicious hors d’oeuvres while enjoying relaxing views and live music. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at door. Fishing Derby   – Start your weekend with a fun morning of angling and friendly competition at the Georgia Cities Week annual fishing derby at J. F. Gregory Park. Registration is for children ages 12-years old and under and sign-up begins at 7 a.m. The derby runs from 8 a.m.-noon. Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club will provide free hotdogs and soda to registered participants and trophies will be given for “biggest fish” and “most pounds.” Event takes place rain or shine. Gourd Education Day   – Learn how to take your gourds from farm to fabulous at the gourd education day. The event takes place at the Wetlands Education Center in J.F. Gregory Park and  is sponsored by the local chapter of the Georgia Gourd Society. The day features seminars on how to grow, harvest and dry gourds. There will also be demonstrations to teach students how to prepare gourds for crafting and artwork. The event also features a free birdhouse class for the first 30 children ages 12 and younger. SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival – Explore the colorful and fantasy-filled world of sidewalk chalk art at SCAD’s annual event showcasing students, alumni, and prospective students.
