The Richmond Hill Medical Home will open its doors to Army families for an open house from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the clinic in Ways Station Shopping Center on Hwy. 17.
The event will give families an opportunity to tour the facility meet the staff and ask any questions they may have about obtaining health care at the community-based clinic. A Tricare representative will also be on-site for those who would like to switch their medical enrollment to Richmond Hill.
The Richmond Hill Medical Home, which is part of the Fort Stewart Medical Activity health care system, opened in March 2011 to provide Army families in the Richmond Hill community an opportunity to receive health care at a military treatment facility without the 20-mile commute to Fort Stewart.
“The goal of this initiative is to improve primary care access and quality by bringing medicine closer to home for Army Families,” said Michael O’Gorman, Group Practice manager of the Richmond Hill Medical Home. “At its heart, the medical home provides health care the way it should be – easy to access, patient-centered, team-based and quality focused.”
The Richmond Hill Medical Home staff includes seven family practice providers. They also offer lab, pharmacy, behavioral health and available radiology services.
Enrollment is open to active-duty family members, and military retirees and their family members.
The Richmond Hill Medical Home can be reached at 435-RHMH (435-7464).
