Health fair at RH Pharmacy Oct. 7

Richmond Hill Pharmacy will hold its eighth annual Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at the store in Towne Center at 2409 Hwy. 17.
Free blood pressure and glucose testing will be offered, along with flu vaccinations for $25. Flu vaccinations are free for Medicare patients who bring their Medicare card. Cholesterol testing (HDL and LDL) will also be available for $25.
Diabetics can bring in an old meter for a free upgrade. And pneumonia vaccinations will be available for $65 but are free for Medicare patients who bring their Medicare card.
People over 65 years of age and others at high risk for pneumonia are advised to have the vaccine once every five years, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“The health and wellbeing of our entire community continues to be extremely important to us,” said Al Dixon, owner of Richmond Hill Pharmacy. “Each year, the goal of our Health Fair is to increase health awareness and motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes by providing health screenings, activities, demonstrations and other helpful information. We hope everyone will join us.”
