NASHVILLE, Ga. — Starting today, Harveys customers will have an opportunity to purchase a book of delicious local recipes from an original J.H Harveys family member, Iris Harvey Smith.
“This cookbook lists a variety of recipes that our customers can especially enjoy during this holiday season,” said Barry Robinson, vice president of Harveys and Reid’s Stores. “We are excited to offer this second edition of the cookbook which compiles more than 30 years of good hometown cooking.”
The 228-page publication, “Harveys Best from the Recipe Corner Cookbook,” sells for $14.99. The publication, which was originally published in 2005, includes dozens of Iris Harvey Smith’s favorite recipes that were inserted in Harveys weekly flyers over the past three decades.
Smith, who still lives in Cairo, plans to autograph the book at select Harveys locations to be announced later this year. She is the granddaughter of the store’s founder, Iris Johnson Harvey.
The cookbooks are usually sold this time of the year to help with holiday cooking traditions and give customers an opportunity to purchase them as Christmas gifts. The book is available at all Harveys locations, or customers can order them online at www.harveys-supermarkets.com
