You won't be disappointed in Jesus
pastor corner

On Saturday, sports fans anticipated what was promoted as “The Fight of the Century,” the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

If you wanted to watch it, you had to spend nearly $100 through pay-per-view television. I will give the promoters credit for the ability to get people to buy in. One thing many didn’t realize is that this century is only 15 years old.

Both fighters had nothing to lose, since they each received more than $100 million just for showing up. I did not see the fight but have talked to many who have, and I haven’t heard the first person say that they were not disappointed. Some even have indicated that it resembled something you would see in professional wrestling.

Life is full of disappointments and people feeling they did not get what they bargained for.

There is one thing that will never be a disappointment: becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. From personal experience, I know that I have received a whole lot more than I expected or ever deserved. God has been faithful to me over and over again throughout the years of my commitment. There were times when I thought the Lord had failed me, but later on when the picture became clearer, I realized, as stated in Scripture, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
If you have never given the Lord a chance to guide your life, I encourage you to begin that journey. I promise you will not be disappointed.
