A silent auction, barbecue dinner and live entertainment are all on the roster for the Dollars for Dylan event Saturday at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center in J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill.

Though the event begins at 6 p.m., event organizer Nancy Miller said attendees are welcome to come early and preview the silent auction items.

“Come and enjoy the fun when it helps out a very needy cause,” Miller said.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children and no cost for children under the age of 5.

Proceeds from the event will go to the family of Dylan Moore, a 9-year-old Richmond Hill boy who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in 2010.

Miller said Dylan is still taking treatments for his diagnosis and awaiting a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
