Dinners for sale

The Bryan Missionary Baptist Church is selling dinners May 19 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The menu includes a choice of one meat, either Fried or baked chicken or barbecue ribs, potato salad, green beans and a back/bone with rice for $7. A slab of ribs is $20.

Volunteers sought

A team of volunteers will be collecting litter from the roadsides along the 144 Spur and Fort McAllister Road on Saturday, May 19. Due to the increased traffic flow through the area, this event has become necessary and all surrounding residents are encouraged to help. The clean-up will occur from 8 a.m.-noon. Those interested in joining the effort should meet at the Fort McAllister Marina at 8 a.m. Participants are asked to bring garbage bags. A free celebratory cookout will be held for all volunteers following the clean-up, from noon-2 p.m. at the Fort McAllister Marina.

Northside Baptist

Members of Northside Baptist Church will hold an ordination service for their new pastor, Jeff Spencer, on Sunday, May 20. Conducting the service will be Evangelist Max Dawson of Fredonia, Kan. Bro. Dawson is Pastor Spencer’s childhood preacher. This will be the beginning of the church’s four-day revival, which will be held Sunday–Wednesday. Sunday services are 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Monday-Wednesday services will begin each evening at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to share in this special occasion.

NAACP meeting

The Bryan  County NAACP Interest  Group  monthly meeting will be held at Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church, 16525 Hwy. 144 in Richmond Hill on Monday, May 21 starting at 7 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. You do not have to be a member to attend. Kingston

A representative of Congressman Jack Kingston’s office will be in Richmond Hill and Hinesville Thursday, May 24, to meet with anyone who needs assistance with a federal agency during a Congressional "Day Office."

The representative will be at Richmond Hill City Hall, 10347 Ford Ave., from 11 a.m.-noon and at Hinesville City Hall, West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, from 2-3 p.m.
