McTeacher Night
McDonald’s is hosting Richmond Hill Primary School for a McTeacher Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant by Publix on Hwy. 144 south of Richmond Hill.
McDonald’s will donate 20 percent of all sales during the McTeacher Night to Richmond Hill Primary. Teachers and staff will be working at the restaurant for the evening, cleaning the dining room, greeting customers and handing out food at the drive-through window.

Asperger support
The Richmond Hill Asperger Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Hill Public Library. The guest speaker is from Horsin’ Around, a therapeutic horseback riding program.

Public hearing
A public hearing on the proposed Plantation Village development is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Richmond Hill City Hall prior to the City Council’s regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.
The revised master plan for Plantation Village, which includes 112 acres in Richmond Hill Plantation on Hwy. 144 past Timber Trail Road, allows for single- and multifamily residential and commercial uses. The property is zoned PD-2, planned development.

Day office
A representative from Congressman Jack Kingston’s office will be in Bryan County to meet with anyone who needs assistance with a federal agency during a congressional “day office” set for 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 22 at Richmond Hill City Hall at 40 Richard Davis Drive.
“We hold these ‘day offices’ throughout the district to make it more convenient for citizens who may find it difficult to get to one of my offices,” Kingston said. “I hope residents Bryan County will stop by and speak to Trish DePriest if they need help or just want to express their concerns.”

Trolley tour
The Richmond Hill Historical Society will host a trolley tour of The Ford Plantation from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 24.
The tour begins at the Richmond Hill Museum, and a guide will ride along, pointing out significant historical sites and buildings within The Ford Plantation.
After the tour is complete, guests will return to the Richmond Hill Museum, where a reception of light refreshments will be available.
As an added bonus, a display of local artists’ original work depicting “Disappearing Lifestyles on Bryan Neck” and the Bailey Carpenter Barbershop, a historic Ford building recently relocated to the museum’s campus, will be open.

Fall Festival
Richmond Hill Elementary and G.W. Carver Elementary schools will host a Fall Festival from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 24 on the school campuses.
Activities will include games, rides, a human hamster ball, a rock wall, face painting and much more. The principals have agreed to make an appearance in the dunking booth.
Proceeds from the festival will be used to fund playground equipment for the schools.

Church dinner
The Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church’s August birth month group will sponsor a fundraiser dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 8.
Dinners are $10 and slabs of ribs are $20. Dinners include barbecue ribs, fried shrimp and fish, potato salad, backbone rice, green beans and cornbread and can be picked up at the church.

Dolphin Project
The Dolphin Project will host its October meeting 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Johnny Harris Restaurant in Savannah.
The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Eric Montie, professor at University of South Carolina Beaufort. His talk will be on marine bioacoustics and his published research on neuroimaging
