Family picnic
A Labor Day Family Picnic will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at J.F. Gregory Park.
Presented by the Savannah Regional Central Labor Council, the free event will include a dessert bake-off, water slides, a watermelon seed spitting contest and more.

Revival

Northside Baptist Church, located at 458 W.E. Smith Rd., Pembroke, will host a revival from Sept.12-15.
Sunday services will be: 10 a.m. Sunday School, 11 a.m. Sunday Worship and 6 p.m. Evening Worship. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m.
Evangelist Max Dawson will be the guest preacher.

Adult basketball

The North Bryan County Recreation Department will offer an adult basketball league this fall beginning the first of September and running through the middle of November.
The league will play on Monday and Wednesday nights with games beginning at 6 or 6:30 p.m.

Input needed
The Coastal Regional Commission is requesting nominations of cultural, historic and natural resources for inclusion in the Regionally Important Resources Plan for the Region.  The nomination form is attached.  The closing date for nominations is Monday.
All nominations received will be reviewed by the CRC staff and the local government where the nominated site is located for recommendation of inclusion as a RIR.  The nomination form and fact sheet are available on the CRC’s website www.crc.ga.gov, under Planning and Government Services’ Environmental Planning Page.

Art show
The Richmond Hill Historical Society is pleased to present “Seeing History through the eyes of local artists” during the month of September.
The free reception for the show will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, in the Richmond Hill Museum.
Local artists have used archived images held in the Richmond Hill Museum to visually reproduce through paint, pencil, canvas and photography the life and times of the people, places and things from days gone by on the coast of Georgia.

The Richmond Hill Community Theatre is seeking interested directors for fall season and future productions, including plays, musicals, dinner theater and other quality theatrical performances.

Mothers' group
Join Mothers Of Preschoolers at First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. Get together with other moms to figure out the art  and science of mothering together. If you have a child from birth-kindergarten, this group is for you. Stop by anytime to learn more. Regular meetings  are the first and third Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m.

Sarcoidosis support
Learn how to cope with this medical mystery, and benefit from up to date information on physicians, natural foods and other health care professionals. Talk with others who have been coping with sarcoidosis for many years.
The next meeting is from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 16 at Candler Hospital Heart and Lung Building in Savannah, second floor, classroom 3.

Educators meeting
The Bryan-Evans Retired Educators Association meets the second Tuesday of the month.
This year’s first meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Pembroke United Methodist Church.  
The meeting will include a brunch and a program on fall gardens by Bryan County Extension Agent Don Gardner.
All retired teachers are encouraged to attend.

Labor Day program
Fort Morris State Historic Site will hold its Labor Day Revolutionary War cannon demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 4 at the historic site in Midway.
Historically attired interpreters will present revolutionary war soldier talks, musket and cannon demonstrations. The cost is $4 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, $2.75 for kids ages 6-18 and children 5 and under are free.
Bring a picnic lunch and make an afternoon of it.
