One of Richmond Hill’s own will be attending one of the U.S. Service Academies following an appointment from Congressman Jack Kingston, R-Ga.
Gareth Price of Richmond Hill received a Congressional Nomination and has been appointed to the Air Force Academy as a member of the class of 2017. He is the son of Ceinwen and Thomas Price and is currently a senior at Richmond Hill High School.
“I commend these students for not only their appointment but also for the hard work and dedication that they have expressed towards their country,” Kingston said. “I am confident that the leadership skills and education that you receive will prepare you for all future endeavors.”
Students were interviewed for Congressional Nominations into the class of 2017 by Kingston and the Military Academy Board. Interviews were conducted at Bethesda Academy in Savannah.
Other area students receiving appointments include Sarah Spain of St. Simons Island to the Naval Academy; Daniel Hoffman of Savannah to the Military Academy at West Point; Michael L’Herault of Valdosta to the Military Academy of West Point; and Kasey Candelario of Valdosta to the Air Force Academy.
