It was reported in the June 15 edition of the news that Emma Morris, a 2013 graduate of Richmond Hill High School, had accepted a scholarship award and would be attending Columbus State University in the fall, according to a press release from the university. However, this information is incorrect.
According to Kim Morris, Emma will be attending University of Miami this fall majoring in music performance. She has received a $13,000 academic scholarship from the university as well as an additional $8,900 scholarship from the university’s Frost School of Music.
Emma underwent a rigorous audition process requiring her to prepare and play a selected flute repertoire. She competed against numerous flutists from all over the country to earn a spot at the well-renowned Frost School of Music at University of Miami.
