Bryan County High School Future Farmers of America members completed their annual fall service project on Dec. 17 with the presentation of 35 FFA fruit baskets to the senior citizens at the Bryan County Senior Citizen Center in Pembroke.
The presentation completed the two-prong service project that the FFA members conducted. The first project was the annual food drive, chaired by Shelbi Smith.
Smith and her committee collected food prior to the Thanksgiving holiday and presented boxes of non-perishable food items to the Bryan County Department of Family and Children Services for distribution to needy families.
The second project coincided with the club’s annual fruit sale. The FFA ordered several boxes of fruit and made fruit basket gifts for senior citizens. Travis Herndon, FFA vice president, presented the baskets at the Senior Citizens Center in Pembroke.
