The RHHS boys and girls soccer teams swept Liberty County for impressive Region 3AAA wins Tuesday.

The girls beat Liberty 14-0. Two goals each were scored by Ginny Freeman and Katie Bergsmith while single goals were scored by Katie Berry, Mackenzie Qua, Katie Hudson, Lori Barnes, Laura Nunnery, Sarah Parker, Azea Mustafa, Meghan Guarino, Meghan Milligan and Tyler Carlson.

Their record is now 11-1 overall, 5-1 regional. They will seed second into the region tourney, missing a number 1 seed only due to tiebreaker rule number 6 (goal differential) where St. V’s was +1 on them after the games yesterday.

The boys beat Liberty 9-0. Two goals each were scored by Brian Wood and Nick Harris while single goals were scored by Ben Botelho, Mitch Doud, Greyson Surges, Pavil Rybin and Steven Guarino.

"We played excellent possession and created 43 shots," said head boys coach Wade Wright. "I would like to see us convert more of these, but overall it was a good win. We needed to be able to tactically do some things we did last night and see some players in a game situation. I am very pleased with these past four games."

Their record is now 7-3-2 overall, 4-2 region.

The boys also will finish second in the sub-region and will host the first round of the region playoffs the week of April 9. A specific date has not yet been set.
