More than 200 people attended the annual Richmond Hill High School Football Banquet & Awards Ceremony on Friday at the City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.

RHHS head coach Matt LeZotte called the 2015 Wildcats a special group of individuals who fought for every inch of turf they gained on the field this year. He and his coaches handed out award certificates and team letters as the team members entered the banquet room prior to the banquet starting.

"Look at these guys. This team never quit. They pulled together and fought as a team," LeZotte said.

The coach also said the future was bright for Wildcat football.

"There are big things on the horizon for this team. We are excited about the guys on the team and the guys that are coming up. These guys are going to bulk up and use the new weight room," Lezotte said.

Former Wildcat quarterback Dominique Allen, who is now the starting quarterback at The Citadel, opened the evening's program by telling the team to fight through adversity and persevere and that all games would not go perfectly but to never give up.

Lezotte announced the awards, saying it was an honor to present them. They included:

• Iron Man — Taylor Milbradt and Grayson Cowan

• Specialist Award — Aaron Bedgood

• Offensive MVP — Sam James

• Defensive MVP — Tyler Milbradt

• Team MVP — Brian Hughes

All team seniors were also recognized by LeZotte and received awards from the Touchdown Club. Other awards included all-region players and gifts for the graduating seniors.

LeZotte also recognized his coaches, saying, "I couldn't do it without them. It's going to be a great 2016."
